Have moved into a new flat and the livingroom has a storage heater. It has 2 electrical supplies into it, one from a dual supply consumer unit and the other from the normal consumer unit. This heater has a built in convector which is turned off (small switch on the side). The heater has only one dial to set the output, nothing to control the input. It is always very warm, even set to minimum all the time and my first elec bill laid me flat on my back. How is the input set??? It is a Dimplex FCXA and i cant find info for this model on the net, and of course the info i can find on storage heaters tells me there should be 2 dials, input and output. Can anyone give me a good answer please, Thanks.

Sound like they're faulty. Are you eligible for a grant and have another source of central heating put in? Storage heaters are notouriously expense to run and you need to be on the economy seven tariff and do all your washing and cooking at night to even out the cost. I think the ones you have have been discontinued. I'd contact Dimplex go to http://www.dimplex.de/english for more info. and this site:-

Hope this helps and have a nice day.
