In 1988, rookie coach Mike Gottlieb led the Towson State University Tigers to victory in ECC (East Coast Conference) tournament. The team, featuring future major leaguer Chris Nabholz, professional ballplayer Jay Eck, future PHD and former right hand hitting version of Slammin’ Sammy Horn, Jim Churilla and ECC Tournament MVP Brian Walsh went on to the College World Series and won a game against much stronger competition. This video was done on super 8 shortly before the tournament and has never been seen before, not by the coach, not by the players, not by anyone as I found it buried in my storage unit untouched for nearly 20 years. If you were on this team or on this video, email me at swamilee@yahoo.com and I can provide you with a DVD copy. It’s a bit dark and for that I apologize, but there are certainly some faces you can see. It does become lighter later on in the video. I hope this brings back great memories like it did for me!
